Gotcha

Last week I blogged about the elusive Monkjack that had been seen briefly in the garden. I'd been keeping the camera on the tripod by the window in case it made another appearance. Of course since I was prepared for it coming, it never showed up ! Today however I looked up to find it nibbling the hedge right in front of the office window. The trouble was the light was going and I didn't have enough light to photograph it handheld through the window. I grabbed the camera and the tripod and raced upstairs to see if I could catch it from a better position. Thankfully it was in no hurry and also obliged by wandering down to the bottom of the garden. I rattled off 20+ shots with the camera on the tripod at a fairly low shutter speed, and thankfully it managed to hold a pose for a couple of them. Below isn't my finest photograph but it's the best of the bunch. Hopefully it'll keep returning to the garden and I can improve on this when there's more light !
