Good Night Sydney
It's been a very busy trip and yesterday was full-on from a work perspective so the only opportunity I had to get out with the camera was yesterday evening. I've brought my old Nikon D70 camera with me as it was that model that I was first shown how to use a camera outside of 'auto' mode many years ago. And it was here in Sydney, photographing the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge which aren't bad subjects to start with. So armed with my trusty old D70 and a Joby GorillaPod tripod I walked down to Circular Quay to grab a couple of shots of the iconic Sydney landmarks. The best place to shoot these iconic landmarks together is from the Royal Botanic Gardens but I'm sensible enough not to walk through unfamiliar parks in unfamiliar cities after dark ! So both these shots are straight from the camera with no post-production and they won't win any awards for technique or composition but they do bring back so many memories of leaning the art of photography. Alas I'm heading home today but I look forward to being back soon, where I'll probably bring my more modern camera gear, to continue my photographic connection with Sydney.
