What a difference a week makes

Last weekend I had a group shoot with a family celebrating a birthday. The shoot was booked somewhere in the region of three months earlier and with the date being set for October, it made sense to aim for an outdoor component to include some autumn colours. With setting the date so far in advance we were always running the risk the weather might not be good on the day, Luckily we got a beautiful autumn day with a mix of sunshine and shade. It was a little windy which didn't help with the ladies hair, but we managed to find some sheltered spots that didn't make it too tedious.

So it's lucky it wasn't booked for this weekend as I haven't been able to see the bottom of the garden from the house for fog all weekend. It's not cold, but everything soaking wet and to try and shoot outdoors this weekend would have been a miserable experience. I'm still post-processing the output from the shoot but looking back at some of these it's hard to believe it was this time last week !
