Clamshell Lighting

In my last blog post I showed an example of a simplistic lighting configuration with a single light above the subject and a reflector placed below to bounce light back and fill in the shadows. The image below extends that idea by adding a second light below the model to provide an up-light. Both lights were set to the same power with a softbox rather than an umbrella to provide nice soft light. Umbrellas would have worked just as well, but the softbox's were already fitted to the lights so I went with what I had. The result is a soft even light and a double catchlight in the eyes. It shows the dribble too :-)
